Children's Jungle Theme Birthday Party Ideas

Now the weather is starting to improve it's great to be able to plan in a little outdoor time for your child's Birthday party. A children's party theme that will appeal to both
boys and girls is 'Jungle Animals.'

Children love joining in with the preparation as the excitement builds for their party. Start with jungle theme invitations and then your child will enjoy making the party decorations with you. Using card and paper you could paint palm trees and tropical flowers to use as banners on the walls of the party room. For a fun extra you could cut out parrot shapes from card and stick lots of colourful feathers to them, hanging them both inside the party room and outside in the garden to brighten up your jungle theme. Green crepe paper strands hanging down make excellent vines too!

Table decorations and name cards are an easy addition to the party theme.

Every child will have a favourite animal and you could incorporate some activity crafts so that the little guests make their own animal masks and animal goody bags. All you will need is a selection of paper plates, string, safety scissors, glue, felt, coloured paper and pens. Face paints are another great options that both boys and girls will love.

You can involve your child in decorating cupcakes using icing and sweets to reflect animal fur patterns such as zebra, tiger or leopard theme. Making animal faces out of snack foods such as fruit and veg pieces displayed on large plates for the little guests to pick from is a fun and healthy addition to the party food table too. Whether you buy or make the Birthday Cake it will impress all the guests if it reflects your child's favourite jungle animal.

Some animal theme party games to consider are :

Pin The Tail On The Tiger - draw a tiger on a large piece of card and let the children stick a furry material tail where they think it should be whilst they have their eyes closed - no cheating!

Animal Bingo - draw different combinations of five jungle animals on a card for each child and then call out animal at a time to see who wins

Flamingo Fun - like musical statues where the guests have to stop and stand on one foot like a flamingo whenever the music stops

Guess The Animal Game - each child has a picture of an animal to hold above their head and guess what it is by asking the others some questions

Animal Charades - each child picks a card with an animal on it and must act like that animal for the other guests to guess what they are pretending to be

Balloon animals are fantastic for parties too. Buy some ready made ones or have hours of fun making your own!

For younger children Happy Hopperz are a great way to let off some steam jumping around the garden! You could set up a jungle path for them to follow around the garden or perhaps they could have a jumping race for little animal theme prizes such as stickers, cuddly toys, pens and note books.
